The Pettit National Ice Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin approached us with the intention to replace their condenser unit. They were looking for Bassett Mechanical to identify gaps and answer questions they had regarding their system.
We performed a thorough walk-through of the facility and existing systems. We discovered several gaps and considerations. We asked questions about the current state and pain points Pettit was experiencing.
WE LOOK AHEAD
Our teams prepared a very detailed proposal stating step-by-step the solutions we were recommending and how they would benefit this customer in the future. The end solution included a condenser replacement, ammonia piping from the engine room to the condenser, and water piping.
WE DELIVER FULL-SERVICE SOLUTIONS
Our full-service solutions on this project included Industrial Refrigeration (engineer validation/check and CAD), Metal Fabrication (prefabrication and caps for the condenser curbing), and service and field installation.
WE ARE CREATING CUSTOMERS FOR LIFE®
The Pettit National Ice Center chose us for the project based on our detailed proposal and transparency with each step in the solutions process. We took the time to ensure the project was explained start to finish and the reasons behind each step were laid out in detail, providing the Pettit National Ice Center with the assurance that we were the right partner for this project.
Initially, this project was planned for a 1 week shut down to allow time to take out all the ice and put it back in. To complete it in such a short time, our teams measured the piping requirements in the field and prefabricated them in our 268,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. This allowed us to minimize manpower and onsite time for installation since minimal field weld joints were required. Since a crane was also needed to drop in the piping, the prefabrication done in our manufacturing facility also helped decrease the amount of time the crane was needed on site.
