Companies across the United States share a common concern related to the shortage of skilled tradespeople. Like many industries, industrial refrigeration has been challenged to fill the pipeline with enough specialized skilled trades professionals to meet the increasing customer demand.
As a result, Bassett Mechanical introduced a solution- the Bassett Training Academy. This proactive and structured ammonia refrigeration training program allows us to develop Ammonia Refrigeration Engineers, Process Safety Management (PSM) Specialists, and Ammonia Service Technicians to meet the current and future needs of customers. Bassett Mechanical is proud to announce Ron as our very first graduate from the Bassett Training Academy! During the course of this 3-year program, Ron attended classroom sessions, participated in outside programs across the country, and completed on-site field training including hands-on equipment experience. At the end of this program, students like Ron not only achieve graduation from our training academy but finish with other industry-recognized training certifications such as RETA CIRO certification, ensuring each graduate meets and exceeds all the industry requirements and certifications our customers expect.

Two additional refrigeration service technicians are close to finishing the program over the next few months and another is scheduled to complete the program this summer.
